Ingredients
Calcium
Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body and is essential for the growth and good health of children.
It is involved in the formation of bones and teeth
Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 is involved in many reactions in the body and plays a fundamental role in the development of the nervous system, brain and body in children and infants.
A deficiency in children can have irreversible consequences on brain development and certain bodily functions. A recent English study confirmed the real impact of vitamin B12 deficiency in children on their later cognitive abilities (up to over 10 years).
Other B vitamins (B2, B5, B6, B9)
They are also involved in the mechanisms of cell multiplication and harmonious growth.
Vitamin D3 (plant-based)
Vitamin D has many roles in the body. Vitamin D promotes the intestinal absorption of calcium and its binding to bones. It is necessary for growth and skeletal strength. Vitamin D is also involved in immune mechanisms.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E protects the body's cells thanks to its antioxidant power, which acts against free radicals. It is also involved in the synthesis of red blood cells, making it essential for children.
Iodine
Iodine is a trace element essential to the proper functioning of the body because it intervenes in particular at the level of the thyroid which produces the thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), very involved in the growth of the nervous system and the skeleton.
Iodine deficiency in children can lead to thyroid disorders, resulting in reduced cognitive abilities and/or reduced skeletal growth. Iodine intake must be measured very precisely.
Zinc
Zinc is essential for cell multiplication and differentiation and tissue healing. It also helps strengthen the immune system. Zinc deficiency in children can lead to growth disorders and reduced resistance to infections.
Magnesium (Bisglycinate)
Magnesium has a relaxing effect on the nervous system and its deficiency can have a negative impact on the child's condition.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C plays a triple essential role during growth: it improves the fixation of calcium and iron and also participates in protein synthesis.
Multi Kid can be ideally combined with additional intakes of DHA (one 250 mg capsule every other day) and Iron (absent from the formula to limit interference with other trace elements).
Omega 3 and DHA
Reminders on Omega 3 and DHA:
Omega-3s are long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs) that are called essential because they are essential to the body (for its development and proper functioning).
The 3 constituents of PUFAs are:
- TO THE
- EPA
- DHA
ALA is the precursor to the other two omega-3s. It must be obtained from food because the body cannot synthesize it.
Eicosapentaenoic (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA) acids: these can be synthesized by our body from ALA.
But the conversion of ALA to DHA is in more than 90% of cases very insufficient to cover our needs.
It is therefore essential to provide DHA through food or supplementation.
The role of DHA:
DHA plays a fundamental role in the body:
- For the proper functioning of the brain and nervous system: in particular, it increases resistance to nervous stress
- during pregnancy: for the mother and the child (see below);
- To combat fatigue and eye aging
- To reduce the risk of high blood pressure;
- For the most harmonious functioning possible of all physiological functions: its presence in all cell membranes and its active role in their exchange capacity, its influence on the synthesis of cholesterol largely explain its preventive virtues (anti-inflammatory etc.)
Other virtues of DHA:
DHA plays an important role in children and athletes
In children:It is essential for the proper development of the brain and nervous system. Logically, this begins during pregnancy and breastfeeding with the mother's diet sufficiently rich in DHA.
In Athletes: DHA has a triple beneficial role
- Reduction of the impacts of muscle injuries
- Reduction of inflammatory disorders resulting from intensive stress on ligaments and joints
- Increase in the body's antioxidant capacity (which also allows for less cellular aging)
