10 Billion CFUs and 4 complementary strains :
Each capsule of our Vegaflore supplement brings you probiotic bacteria (10 billion CFU) thanks to a unique combination of 4 bacterial strains of the human microbiota.
A Prebiotic Booster :
The probiotics in our Vegaflore supplement are associated with a Prebiotic booster.
Prebiotics are food substances that allow the selective growth of certain probiotic-type bacteria.
It is therefore an additional asset to guarantee the effectiveness and quality of the probiotics in the Vegaflore supplement.
Gastro-resistant capsule Made In France :
In addition to the contribution of a prebiotic booster, each capsule is gastro-resistant. We have chosen Dr Caps ® capsules of high quality and made in Alsace.
This preserves the contents of the capsule until it is released into the intestinal environment and thus increases the effectiveness of the probiotic action.

Probiotics are “living microorganisms that, when ingested in sufficient quantities, exert positive health effects beyond traditional nutritional effects” (official WHO definition).
It is the good live bacteria that must colonize the intestine to improve its functioning (transit, food digestion, etc.) by suppressing the “bad” anaerobic bacteria.
Probiotics act on the following phenomena :
- Constipation
- Stress
- Acute diarrhea (antibiotics, etc. )
- Weakened immune system
- Bloating, flatulence, etc.
- Change of diet
The impact of the proper functioning of the intestine on health, vitality, resistance to stress and external aggression is enriched every day with new information demonstrated.
When should you take your Vegan Pre and Probiotics food supplement?
Swallow one capsule before or during a meal to promote bacterial survival.
Recommendations (from 8 years of age) :
- 1 or 3 capsules/day.
- After medical treatments or if intestinal discomfort: 2 to 3 capsules/day for 2 to 3 weeks.
A capsule contains more than 10 billion CFU during production.
- Fructo Oligo Saccharide F.O.S. (prebiotic): 100 mg/capsule - Lactobacillus acidophilus: 40 mg = 4 billion CFU*/ capsule - Bifidobacterium longum: 10 mg = 1 billion CFU*/ capsule - Lactobacillus casei: 10 mg = 1 billion CFU*/ capsule - Lactobacillus rhamnosus: 40 mg = 4 billion CFU*/ capsule Additives: corn maltodextrin - rice bran
Contents in vegetarian capsule
*CFU: colony-forming unit (The quantities indicated above are those still present at the optimal use-by date (2 years))
Probiotic, intestinal flora, microbiota, understand it all
What is a probiotic?
The origin of the term probiotic is attributed to the bacteriologist Werner Kollath (1953). He gave this name to bacteria in opposition to the already existing term antibiotic.
The WHO went on to define probiotics as “living microorganisms that, when ingested in sufficient quantities, exert positive health effects beyond traditional nutritional effects”.
Probiotics are therefore bacteria that populate our bacterial flora (skin, mucous membrane, digestive tract).
These probiotics are therefore components of the microbiota.
What is the microbiota? What is the role of the intestinal flora?
The term microbiota refers to all micro-organisms that live in a specific environment. This includes bacteria, viruses, parasites, or non-pathogenic fungi. In our organism there are different types of microbiotes in different areas. The microbiota on the skin will be different from that of the mouth or vagina.
Among the various microbiotes, the intestinal microbiota is the most important of all. It would count between 1012 to 1014 microorganisms: almost 2 to 10 times more than the number of cells that make up our body!
It is estimated that the intestinal microbiota would weigh 2 kilos !
Your microbiota is unique:
Although all intestinal flora contain bacterial strains that are identical from one individual to another, each organism is unique.
Thus, the proportions and distribution of certain bacteria will vary according to several parameters specific to each one. The environment, the diet, the rhythm of life are all parameters that will influence the intestinal flora and its singularity.
The role of the microbiota
The microbiota is located throughout the digestive system. It is found in greater quantities in the small intestine and colon. It should be noted that the gastric acidity present in the stomach makes the development of a bacterial flora* impossible.
*It is therefore important to favour probiotic food supplements contained in gastro-protective capsules to avoid the release of the capsule in the stomach.
The microbiota has several roles, including protection against pathogens and aiding digestion.
The fight against pathogens:
In the intestine, 3 elements work in synergy and help maintain the immune defence process.
These are the intestinal mucosa (the membrane lining the wall of the digestive tract), the intestinal immune system (60% of immune cells are concentrated in the intestine) and finally the intestinal microbiota.
It helps protect the body from pathogens by adhering directly to the mucosa and absorbing the nutrient substrates that pathogens need to grow.
The digestive aid:
The intestinal microbiota and the microorganisms that make it up also play a role in many situations:
- By ensuring the degradation of non-digestible food residues
- By synthesizing certain vitamins (vitamin K, B12, B8)
- By helping the assimilation of certain nutrients and the degradation of certain proteins
If the intestinal flora plays a role on digestion and the immune system by fighting against pathogens, many studies show that it also has a decisive role on the nervous balance.
In practice, this flora can easily become unbalanced by diminishing the properties mentioned above.
Imbalance of the intestinal flora
The microbiota can easily become unbalanced and lead to the predominance of one family of bacteria or the rarefaction of other species.
(Note that the causes of imbalance are diverse: antibiotic treatment, fatigue, diet, stress etc.).
In addition, pathogens can take advantage of this decrease in protection to develop and create disorders, the most common of which are stomach aches, diarrhea and bloating. Some imbalances can lead to much more restrictive effects:
- Obesity: Work in progress also shows direct relationships between weight gain and intestinal flora.
- Antibiotic treatments: Antibiotics act directly on certain bacteria and pathogens. This can lead to imbalances in the intestinal flora (poor balance of strength between good bacteria and others). This can lead to stomach aches and difficulties in digestion. It is therefore often recommended to consume probiotics at the same time as an antibiotic treatment.
- Crohn’s disease: a chronic inflammatory bowel disease. However, there is still no evidence to support the use of probiotics for the treatment of Crohn’s disease. 1
- Irritable bowel syndrome: also known as “functional colopathy” is a benign but disabling condition. It is also a chronic disease whose symptoms may include bloating, flatulence, abdominal pain. Certain strains of probiotics seemed to show some effectiveness in the fight against syndromes 2.
The microbiota: useful for our health
As explained above, the microbiota and maintaining its balance is very important and influences many aspects of our health.
However, while probiotics may be effective in the correction of some disorders, not all are effective. Conditioning, strain quality and quantity are all criteria to be taken into account before choosing your supplement. We invite you to read the article that deals with this subject on our Blog.

A formula adapted to all consumers
Probiotics are “living microorganisms that, when ingested in sufficient quantities, exert positive health effects beyond traditional nutritional effects” (official WHO definition).
It is the good live bacteria that must colonize the intestine to improve its functioning (transit, food digestion, etc.) by suppressing the “bad” anaerobic bacteria. The impact of the proper functioning of the intestine on health, vitality, and resistance to stress and external aggression is enriched every day with new evidence.
The main challenge is to succeed in bringing live probiotics into the intestine: bacteria are sensitive to heat and especially to stomach acidity. When these two precautions are not managed, less than 10% of the theoretical content actually reaches the intestine.
These are the reasons why it is important to have protected packaging:
Our food supplement Vegaflore is packaged with DR capsâ„¢ gastro-resistant capsules: stomach acidity destroys most of the probiotic bacteria. It is therefore essential to package these fragile bacteria in a protective capsule that will preserve them and release them into the intestinal environment. It is supplemented with Fructo Oligo Saccharides (FOS; prebiotics) which are a privileged food for the bacteria to allow them to develop as soon as the capsule is opened in the intestine. This is a precaution of additional effectiveness, even if vegetarian diets are naturally rich in fibre with prebiotic properties. * Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus rhamnosus
Note: Our Vegaflore food supplement is also highly recommended for non-vegetarians!
